WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A HOUND

Think "lost hound"—not stray or abandoned!

We like to think that most "found hounds" are lost rather than abandoned. Beagles, bassets, and other scent hounds think with their noses. They have been known to travel as far as ten miles from their home. Sometimes hunters have abandoned these hounds, but many times they have simply escaped from their home, and their owners are out frantically looking for them.
